Prestige Motorsports is a longtime race engine builder that also builds some pretty hot street/strip engines for a variety of applications. I’ve known these folks for years, but this is our first engine build video together. So, of course, we had to go big.
How about a 427 cubic inch Ford that makes 612 horsepower — on pump gas?
This is an all-new build that uses off-the-shelf components. Depending on your car or truck, you can choose either a front- or rear-sump oil pan to clear the crossmember. And if you prefer to keep things old school, swapping out the electronic fuel injection for a big four-barrel carb should be no big deal.
So check out the build in the video and let us know what you think!
A stock block cannot reliably handle over 600 horsepower, so a Dart SHP block was sourced and bored to 4.125.
